Castillo de Frías (Burgos)

The Castillo de Frías, in the province of Burgos, stands on a rock overlooking the Ebro River and the medieval town of Frías. Its origins date back to the 9th century as a defensive fortress against Muslim incursions. Its strategic location made it a key control point on the Castilian border and trade routes. Its keep, visible from miles away, and its spectacular integration with the natural rock are particularly noteworthy.
